Jamie Thomas

Mr Jamie Joseph Thomas, age 47, passed after a sudden illness Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Jamie was a loving husband and father. He had a strong Catholic Faith, was a member of St Michael’s Catholic Parish in Coopersville and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9909. Jamie was a proud U. S. Marine Corps Veteran, was retired from the Chicago Police Dept. where he worked for 20 years and was looking forward to beginning his new career with the Ottawa County Road Commission at the Grand Haven facility. He was preceded in death by his father Randy Thomas, grandparents Robert and Carolyn Marek, grandfather Carroll Schumaker. Jamie is survived by his loving wife Gina Lise (Perea) Thomas; 3 daughters, Ava Caroline Thomas, Madelyn Kay Thomas and Grace Elizabeth Thomas; mother and stepfather, Valerie and Mark Patterson; stepmother Joanne Thomas; sister, Julie (Dale) Van Dyken; grandmother, Edna Schumaker; 3 stepbrothers; 1 stepsister; mother-in-law, Carol Perea; sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Jamie is also survived by his loyal canine companions, Tallie, Gunner and Ranger. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Nov. 11, 2021, Thursday at St Michael’s Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the mass at church. Jamie’s cousin Fr. Daniel Schumaker and Fr. Ayub Francis Nasar Concelebrants. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family Nov 10, 2021, Wednesday from 2 to 8 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville with a Prayer Service at 8:00 P.M.
