Zelpha Benefiel

Benefiel (Woodard) Mrs Zelpha Donnis (Woodard) Benefiel aged 91, of Coopersville went back home to God Thursday morning April 29, 2010 of Parkinsoné�a�a��s Disease complicated by a stroke. Zelpha was born Oct 4, 1918 in Muskegon Heights, MI to Herbert and Alice (Maynard) Wilson. She married Paul Woodard on June 26, 1938. Zelpha worked as the head cook at Trinity Lutheran School in Conklin for many years, and along with her husband Paul owned and operated Paulé�a�a��s Popcorn Place in Muskegon until Paulé�a�a��s death on Sept. 12, 1973 of heart failure. After Paulé�a�a��s death Zelpha took a job as a cook at the nursing home in Lamont for several years until she retired. She married Warren Benefiel in 1981 and they lived in Conklin on the Benefiel farm until Warrené�a�a��s death on March 3, 2003 from complications of pneumonia. Zelpha is survived by her daughters Nancy (Woodard) Benefiel and husband Robert, Sue (Woodard) Gross; soné�a�a��s James Woodard and David Colpetzer; 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday May 8th at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville. Rev John Morse officiating. Burial in Ravenna Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 pm Friday May 7th at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Assoc. of West Michigan, 260 Jefferson SE, Suite 210 Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
