William Jay Kolk, age 77, of Coopersville passed away at his home unexpectedly Monday, April 29, 2019. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Alice (Bultman) Kolk and his sister, Joyce Veurink. Bill worked as assistant Postmaster at Fremont and retired from the Twin Lake and Houghton Post Offices where he was Postmaster. After his retirement he became a distributor for Zippo Lighters and was very active in the many Zippo Lighter Clubs in the United States and Internationally. Bill is survived by his children, Debra Berry, John (Marla) Kolk, Shari (William) Hartley, Brian Kolk and David (April) Kolk; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; brother-in-law Roger Veurink; neices and nephews and many close friends. In keeping with his wish cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church, 300 E. Cleveland St, Coopersville, MI 49404 with Rev Joel Hoyer officiting. A guestbook may be signed at www.throopfh.com
