Wayne Lemmen

Wayne Lemmen, age 96, of Rockford, formerly of Coopersville, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 and is now in the presence of his Lord. He was born in Allendale, MI on December 19, 1924 to the late BJ and Venna (Eelman) Lemmen.  In addition to his parents, Wayne was also preceded in death 6 weeks ago by his loving wife of 76 years Helene Lemmen, son Dennis Lemmen, and brother Robert Lemmen, Sr.  He is a lifetime member of the Coopersville Christian Reformed Church.  Wayne served as a naval officer in the Pacific during WWII, returning home to join the family business.  He was a well-known businessman until his retirement 25 years ago. Wayne loved his family, travel, golf, and was an avid bridge player. He also enjoyed his many friends in Michigan and Florida.  He will be deeply missed by his children, Marcia (Ron) Schofield, Douglas (Heidi) Lemmen, Lance (Regina) Lemmen, Todd (Lori) Lemmen, and daughter-in-law Tammy Lemmen; 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Due to Covid a private family service will be held with burial in the Allendale Township Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left on his Tribute Wall at throopfh.com
