Verlin Jewell

August 11, 1944 — August 10, 2019

Verlin L. Jewell, aged 74 of Coopersville, passed away at his home Saturday, August 10, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer. Verlin was born in Polkton Twp. MI to the late Charles and Geraldine (Beld) Jewell. He worked as an over the road truck driver, enjoyed spending time with his family and adored spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Verlin enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, auto racing and camping with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 36 yrs. Barb (Karafa) Jewell; children, Tom (Brenda) Lasko and Lori (Dan) Truax; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Roger Jewell; brothers-in-law, James Karafa, Jack Karafa, Joe (Pam) Karafa and John (Cindy) Karafa; many nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wish cremation has taken place. A Memorial Life Celebration Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019 at Christ Temple, 5018 S. Ravenna Rd, Ravenna, MI 49451 (corner of S. Ravenna Rd. and Ellis Rd.) Interment will be in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family Wednesday morning 10 – 11 AM at Church. Memorial donations may be made to Harbor Hospice, 1050 W Western Ave # 400, Muskegon, MI 49441.
