Verlin R.D. Brown

Verlin R.D. Brown, age 90 of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023. He was born in Stanton, MI to the late Donald and Nellie (Webb) Brown. 

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 64 yrs., Frances Kay Brown; son, Charles Brown; daughter, Cheryl (Jean) Corpe; grandchildren, Randi Wollner, Katrianna Wollner, Amber Wollner, Nicholas (Karley) Corpe, Morgan Corpe and Hanna (Austin) Myers; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Caroline Abbott, Clyde Brown and Irene, LeRoy Brown and Patricia Brown; sisters-in-law, Glenny Brown, Carole Baker, Lorene DeVries, Pat (Dave) Barkley; brother-in-law, John Hilton and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister Donna Alexander, brothers Donald Brown Jr., Richard Brown, Robert Brown and Patrick Brown. Verlin worked for Georgia-Pacific retiring after 44 years and enjoyed traveling Michigan’s back roads looking for rocks to add to his rock collection. Verlin enjoyed playing table games, loved spending time with his grandchildren and was always giving them rides with his tractor and wagon.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404, with Rev. Stephen VanderWoude officiating. A Private Interment will take place in Marne Cemetery.

 Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404 and Monday 12 noon to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
