Veralynn Young

VeraLynn Gale Young, age 76, of Marne, passed way Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at her home with family by her side. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late William and Emily (Rudolph) Scherer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers William “Bill” Scherer Jr., Larry Scherer and special friend Jerome “Jerry” Madura. Lynn enjoyed spending time with her family, caring for her dogs and cat, working in her flower garden, growing vegetables, shopping, singing Karaoke, playing bingo and stopping by the casino from time to time. She will be deeply missed by her children, Lynda (Scott) Huls, Scott (Debra) Young, Troy (Tracy) Young and Tanya (Phil) Wielhouwer; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  A Funeral Scripture Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404 with Deacon Tom Roberts Celebrant of St. Mary’s Parish in Marne. Burial will take place at Bachellor Cemetery by her parents in Fountain, MI. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville.
