Thom Myers, born on September 6, 1954, in Conklin, Michigan, to Carl and Dorothy Myers, passed away Tues, April 23rd. He was the oldest of his four siblings. He spent his youth hanging around town with his friends doing plenty of fun things. In 1967, he won the MVP award for Conklin's Little League. After graduating high school, he went into the Army to prepare to fight in Vietnam only to be sent to Germany. He came home in 1977. Tom married his lifelong sweetheart, Carol, who gave him two wonderful sons, Jeremy (Melanie) and Kevin (Joni). They made him a happy Grandpa to Harrison, Ayla, Mackenzie & Lane. Thom became a volunteer fire fighter for Chester Twp Fire Department so that he could drive a fire engine in local parades. Thom loved hunting in the Upper Peninsula. He retired from Umlor Orchards after 40 years. Thom was preceded in death by his father, Carl Myers, brother-in-law, Tim Klein, in-laws, Herm & Bernadette Rasch, Kathy Pavlovic and Ed Rasch. Thom is survived by his wife, Carol, sons, Jeremy (Melanie) & Kevin (Joni); grandchildren, Harrison, Ayla, Mackenzie and Lane; brothers, Joe (Robin), Rick and Dan; sister, Carleen "Putter"; in-laws, Bob (Peg), Pat (Ric), Jeannie (Jim), Mary (Bill), Dean, Vince (Janet), Barb (Doug), Don (Julie), and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wish cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 29th 11 A.M., at St Joseph Catholic Church, 18784 8th Ave, Conklin MI., Wright Township. Visitation will be held Monday, April 29th one hour prior to the service from 10 - 11 A.M. Memorial contributions can be made to Heart of West Michigan United Way- Veterans Program, or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
