Mr Theodore é�a�A"Tedé�a�� Stuart Looyenga, aged 85, of Jenison was called home to his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Ted was born Aug 20, 1928 in Grand Rapids, MI. to the late Louis and Hattie (Bylsma) Looyenga. He retired from the Grand Rapids Press after 45yrs of service. He served many years in the church as elder and deacon and on the school board. Ted is survived by his wife, Theresa é�a�A"Tressé�a�� (Swart) Looyenga and on June 10th they would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary; children, Mary (Joe) Brummel, Patricia McCullough, Larry (Kathy) Looyenga, Robert (Kathy) Looyenga, Randall (Lindy) Looyenga, Nancy (Kenneth) Throop, Douglas (Melissa) Looyenga, Mark (Sara) Looyenga, Karen (Patrick) Witherell; 28 Grandchildren; 36 Great Grandchildren; sister, Sophie (Willard) Krommendyk; brother-in-law, Raymond Null; sister-in-law, Betty Bylsma and many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his granddaughter, Katie Brummel; brother and sister-in-law, Stuart and Marilyn Looyenga; sister, Louise Null; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Ruth Swart; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Angie Swart, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marion and Simon Ondersma, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Dorothy Swart; brother-in-law, Stuart Bylsma and step-mother, Bertha Looyenga. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 am at Southwest Protestant Reformed Church, 4875 Ivanrest, Grandville, MI 49418, with Rev. Ron Van Overloop officiating. Interment will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Prof. Russell Dykstra officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Southwest Protestant Reformed Church in Grandville and one hour prior to the funeral service at church.
