Tani Bouwman (Slager), age 53, of Coopersville, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Tani is survived by her husband of 35 yrs. Eddie Bouwman; daughters, Melissa (Otis) Beck and Brooke (Ryan Bell) Bouwman; granddaughters, Lainey, Natalee and Arianna; mother and stepfather, Doris (Joe) Slager-Sommerdyke; brother, Ross (Sally) Slager; sister-in-law, Linda Slager; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frederick and Betty Bouwman; sister-in-law, Nancy (Don) Dodge; brothers-in-law Bruce (Shari) Bouwman and David (Sheila) Bouwman; many special nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Robert Slager and brother Hunter Slager. Tani enjoyed spending time hanging out with her granddaughters and their friends and was a positive role model always upbeat and full of life. She was an outgoing people person which led her to a career as a realtor working for The Ginger Baxter Group-Keller Williams Realty in Grand Rapids. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Coopersville Community Center, 182 East St, Coopersville, 49404 with Pastor Kimber Decker officiating. Burial will be in the Coopersville Cemetery. Visitation Monday 5-8 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, 49404.
