Steven Roper

Steven D. Roper, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, April 16, 2022. He was born in Flint, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother Doris Roper, son Chad Roper, father-in-law Frank Aldridge and sister-in-law Gina Snapp. Steve served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, was the past Post Commander at the Coopersville VFW Post 5598. Steve loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren, his wife was his everything. He liked getting together with the HVCCO group and LZ wrong way gang. He took pride in his BBQ skills and enjoyed spending time in the woods deer huntng, searching for morel mushrooms and camping. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years Diane; father, Richard Roper; children, Sandi (Richard) Lubbers, Steven (Nikki) Roper, Philip (Emily) Roper/Oosterhouse; daughter-in-law, Christina Roper; grandchildren, Joselyn, Nicholas, Kenadee, Hailey, Wyatt, Isiac, Elijah, Aubryn, Jack, John, Jesse; great grandson, Julian; siblings, Patricia, Ted, Regan (Debbie), Richard (Darlene), Lois (Dwayne); mother-in-law, Alease Aldridge, brothers-in-law, Donnie (Patricia) Nunley, Frank Snapp; sisters-in-law, Deborah Simmons, Angie (Barry) Whitt and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wish cremation has taken place. A military service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, April 22, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Throop Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
