Stephen Avery

Stephen Charles Avery, age 88, of Coopersville, passed away at his home Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Steve was born in Ypsilanti Twp. to the late Noel and Dorothy (Evans) Avery. He grew up on the East side of the State, moved to Grand Rapids and worked for Allied Van Lines for many years until he moving to Traverse City where he owned and operated motels until his retirement. Steve enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as wintering and living in Florida after he retired. In addition to his parents Steve was preceded in death by his wife Leora, and his brothers Daniel, William, Leo, Charles, Don and Irvin. Steve is survived by his 6 children, Stephen Bruce Avery, Mary (Ken) Ricord, Linda Chappell, Sharon (Doug) Hinken, Russell (Faith) Avery and Jill (Brent) Lanning; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchilden; brother, Tom (Diane) Avery, sister, Nola (Rennie) Crawford; and many nieces and nephews.
