Stanley Edward Zemaitis Jr.

Stanley Edward Zemaitis Jr., age 76, of Grand Rapids and Lamont, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023 peacefully at his home with family by his side. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Stanley and Jessie (Schilthuis) Zemaitis. Stan is survived by his wife of almost 54 yrs. Judy (Knott) Zemaitis; children Kraig (Jenna) Zemaitis, Joel (Valerie) Zemaitis and Rhonda (Dan) Lipski; 8 grandchildren, Max (Allie) Zemaitis, Clay (Kendra) Zemaitis, Emma Zemaitis, Samuel Frank and Paige, Macy Zemaitis, Laine Zemaitis, Paige Lipski and Easton Lipski; 4 great grandchildren, Mason, Tate and Kollins Zemaitis and new great grandson Brady Zemaitis; siblings, Mary (Keith) Bergakker, Carol Vriesma, Mike (Barb) Zemaitis, Larry Zemaitis, Tom Zemaitis, Bill Zemaitis and Bev Zemaitis; brother-in-law Mike Childs; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Stan was preceded in death by his sister Barb Childs and sister-in-law Kathy Zemaitis.   

Stan was a graduate of Coopersville High School Class of 1965, served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, and Owned Zemaitis Cement Finishing, which he began in 1982 and has since passed on to his son’s. Stan was an active lifelong member of Lamont Christian Reformed Church, serving in many capacities from teaching Sunday School to serving as a Deacon and Elder. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle, hunting and of course attending sporting events for his grandchildren and others he knew. He was a man you could always rely on to help you in any way he could.

Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday, August 11, 2023 at Lamont Christian Reformed Church, 4745 Leonard St, Coopersville, MI 49404.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August, 12, 2023 at the Lamont Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Terry Slachter officiating. Following the service Burial will take place at the Maplewood Cemetery in Lamont.
