Sherrie Kathleen (Jones) Morrell

March 12, 1953 — December 4, 2024

Sherrie Kathleen (Jones) Morrell, age 71, of Coopersville, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Sherrie was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Estel and Joan (Orth) Jones. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother John Paul Jones, sisters-in-law, Debra Heinrich and Roxanne Morrell. Sherrie Had an outgoing and intergenic personality that not only transcended to many friends and family, but also her love for horses and labs. She loved making and giving away crafts, including jewelry for friends over the holidays. She would labor over Christmas holiday making her delicious caramel corn to be given away by the bucket loads. Sometimes finding out too late her husband somehow managed to deplete some of the contents. Besides horses, labs and caramel corn, she had a shared interest with her husband of 45 years for motorcycles. Her last Harley was her pride and joy, a pearl ice white Heritage Softail she named Boo! She was an officer and member of Stilettos on Steel enjoying many outings and activities, and an active member of the Harley owners group H.O.G. she and her husband also enjoyed sharing the good works of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She loved to volunteer for Gilda’s Club and worked as a venue captain for Laugh Fest for over 15 years. she has a special heart and enjoyed participating with her husband for 16 years to organize and run Tony’s Toy Run and then distribute gifts over Christmas to children in the hospital in her Mrs. Claus outfit. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 45 years, Doug Morrell; son, Justin (Melissa) Morrell; grandchildren, Johnathan and Madeline; sister, Tina (John) Dys; her latest Lab, Neva, who also liked to share her love for people, providing to be a really good therapy dog for other patients over the past year; sister-in-law, Jan (Richard) McCubbin; brother-in-law, Jeff Morrell and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, December 13, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Throop Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Shields officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. A motorcycle memorial run will be held in the spring in Sherrie’s memory. The family would like to invite everyone to join with them after the funeral starting at 2:00 P.M. for a luncheon at the Coopersville VFW Post 5598, 511 68th Ave N, Coopersville, MI 49404. Memorial donations may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Rd. SW. Lilburn, GA 30047. Condolences for the family may be left on Sherrie’s guestbook at www.throopfh.com.
