Russell Lowell

Russell D. Lowell, aged 71, of Conklin, MI passed away very unexpectedly Tuesday August 2, 2022 at his home. Russ was born in Grand Rapids MI., to the late Robert and Dorothy (Jansma) Lowell. He served in the U.S. Navy, worked at Knape and Vogt in Grand Rapids as a machine setter for 30 + years, and was a member of American Legion Northeastern Post 459 on Michigan St in Grand Rapids. Russ was very proud of his family, especially his grandchildren whom he adored. He enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, listening to the radio, and enjoying the company of friends. Russ had a way about him that made people feel like he had known them all his life. He enjoyed sharing a story and talking about current events. Russ will be deeply missed by his wife of 46 yrs., Deborah (Davis) Lowell; daughters, Tammy (Tom) Leagon, China (Jamie) Breen, Kiley (Andy) Smith and Lacey (Joe) Wiseman; 13 grandchildren whom he adored; brother, Robert (Linda); sister, Linda Helder; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don (Barb), Trish (Dick), Brenda, Lisa (Mike), Randy, Jeff (Pam), Tony (Candace), Kris (Dave), and Rene; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Russ was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Tom and Ron and sister-in-law, Lori. In keeping with Russ’s wish cremation has taken place. A Life Celebration will be held at Westgate Bowl (4486 Alpine Ave NW, Comstock Park) on Saturday, August 27 from 4pm-9pm.
