Ronald Schippers

Ronald J. Schippers, age 69, of Coopersville, passed away at home with family at his side Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017. Ron was a lifelong resident of Coopersville graduating in the class of 1967. He was full of life, funny, hardworking and a good provider. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and traveling to Mackinaw City with his wife Lois and family. Ron was a Ford car fanatic, he owned two Mustangs, a 2007 and a 1969 which he purchased new and was preparing to do a full restoration on. He entered his 2007 Mustang in the Del Shannon car show in 2007 and won a trophy and has participated every year since as well as attending other car shows in the area. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Katherine (Eding) Schippers and brother Gerald. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lois Schippers (Domine); daughters, Kimberly (Kurt) Smith and Ronni (Thomas) Branderhorst; grandchildren, Courtnie (Gary) Brinkert, Jordan Hilton and Lily Branderhorst; great granddaughter, Brylee Brinkert; brother, James Schippers; sister, Janice (Philip) Shafer; sister-in-law, Sharon Schippers and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, with interment in Coopersville Cemetery.
