Roger Lee Sitzer

Roger Lee Sitzer, aged 76, of Conklin, passed away at home with family by his side on Thursday, November 30, 2023. 

Roger is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra (Peck) Sitzer; two sons, Bryan (Kelly) Sitzer and Brent (Amy) Sitzer; 4 grandchildren, Samantha (Jonah) Jefferson, Stephany (Caleb) Rasch, Colton Sitzer and Ethan Sitzer; step-granddaughter, Kirsten Fisher; six great-grandchildren, Timothy, Deacon, Ryder, Aubree, Paisley and Jaxon; one brother, Jerry (Karen) Sitzer; four sisters-in-law, Sally (Pat) Maxfield, Connie (Brian) Langlois, Dena (Claude) Seabright and Darlene Peck; one brother-in-law, David Peck; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Ethel (Fosburg) Sitzer, his brother, Larry Sitzer, brother and sister-in-law, Ron (Marilyn) Sitzer, sister, Shirley Dirosche, step grandson, Milo Fisher and brothers-in-law, Dale Peck and Danny Peck . 

 Roger grew up and attended school in Grand Haven for many years and was a graduate of Coopersville High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, was a member of the Ravenna American Legion Sherman Moore Post 297, Coopersville VFW Post 5598 and was a member of the First Reformed Church of Ravenna. Roger retired from General Motors Delphi Coopersville plant. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren, the outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing, was a Jeff Gordon Nascar fan and could be a real jokester. If you ever needed a tool you could probably find it in Rogers garage as he enjoyed building dune buggies and working on anything with a motor.
  
In keeping with Rogers wish cremation has taken place. A Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, Dec 6, 2023 11:00 A.M. at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St., Coopersville, MI 49404 with Pastor Kevin Schutt officiating and Military Honors will be performed by the Ravenna American Legion Post 297. Visitation will be held 10-11am Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Roger will be interned in McNitt Cemetery, Conklin, MI.
