Robert é�a�A"Bobé�a�� Short, age 83, of Coopersville, passed away Jan 8, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife Leota Short on Oct 27, 2015, parents Edward and Emily (Smale) Short, siblings and their spouses, William (Virginia) Short, Ernest (Cassie) Short, Charles Short, Helen (Robert) McMullin, Betty (Vern) Dailey, in-laws Russell Benedict, Cleo Benedict, Robert Habenicht and Ken Reeves. Bob served in the US Army during Korea, was a long time active member of Wright Seventh Day Adventist Church and retired from Leigh Products. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan and the family asks you wear Tigers or Lions colors to the visitation and service. Robert is survived by his children, Sheila and Dave Gardineer, Ed Short and Darla Short, grandchildren, Michael (Stefanie) Nelsen, David (Brittany) Nelsen, Steven Nelsen, Kevin Gardineer, Emily Gardineer, Erik (Alexandra) Short and Austin (Kindal) Short; great grandchild, Stellar Nelsen; in-laws, Betty Short, Agnes (Robert) Merchant, Ralph (Beverly) Benedict, Ardis Reeves, Carole (Dave) Hoekenga and Roy Benedict; many nieces and nephews and former son-in-law Gary Nelsen. The family wishes to thank Mark and Deb Hudelson for the kindness shown to Bob. Funeral services will be held Thursday 1:00 p.m. at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville with Pastor Jarod Thomas officiating. Burial will take place in Lakeshore Cemetery in Grand Haven, MI. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home in Coopersville. Memorial donations may be made to Wright Seventh Day Adventist Church or The Coopersville Firemané�a�a��s Club.
