Phillip Metten

Phillip C. Metten, age 69, of Coopersville, passed away Friday, February 01, 2019. Phillip served in the U.S. Navy as a Signalman and sang with the Navy Blue Jacket Choir, was a member of Church of The Saviour in Coopersville and was Director of Coopersville Emergency Services for 30 plus years. Phil enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, summer life at Lincoln Pines Resort fishing with his children and grandchildren. He was a huge Michigan and Chicago Cubs fan and also enjoyed his role as Santa at Christmas time. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Metten. Phil is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Metten (nee Busman); daughter, Kimberly (Micah) Rohm and their children, Dan (Sara), Drew (Shianne), Bethani, Jerzi, Niesha, Izik and Ahnnah; son, Jeff (Angie) Metten and their children, Josh, Cameron, Braden and Addison; mother, Joyce Metten; siblings, Terry (Jan) Metten, Brian (Suellyn) Metten, Sue (Kevin) Smoes and Tim (Julie) Metten; many nieces and nephews; Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Feb. 5th at Church of The Saviour, 180 N. 68th Ave, Coopersville, MI 49404 with Rev Dave Kingma officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family 5-8 P.M.
