Philip Jewell

Philip C. Jewell, age 49, of Conklin, MI., went home to be with his Lord after a long battle with cancer Thursday, May 4, 2017. Phil was a graduate of Coopersville High School; he enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, salmon fishing, hunting, scuba diving and spending time with family and friends. He worked 16 plus years for the Ottawa County Road Commission out of the Coopersville Garage. Philip was preceded in death by his mother Judy Jewell who passed away Sept. 14, 2013. He is survived by his father, Roger Jewell; sister, Jill and Jerry VanHouten; brother, Robert Jewell and Meri-beth Brouwer; nephew Nathan VanHouten and fiance' Brooke; niece Ashley VanHouten; aunt, Evelyn Ruster; uncles, Milt and Joyce Ruster and Verlin and Barb Jewell; many cousins. In keeping with Phil's wishes cremation has taken place with a private family service. Memorial donations in Phil's memory may be made to Hospice of Holland, 270 Hoover Blvd., Holland, MI 49423.
