Philip Hecksel

Philip John Hecksel, age 78, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022. He was born in Grand Haven, MI to the late Sherman and Kathleen (Mellow) Hecksel. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Sherman Dale Hecksel and David Hecksel; nephew Sherman John Hecksel; great niece Isabel Umlor; brother-in-law Joe Young; sisters-in-law Elaine Hecksel and Joyce Hecksel. Philip loved going to auction sales and finding a good deal, enjoyed gardening and raising dogs. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Gary Hecksel and Kathy Young; nieces and nephews, Christine (Herb) Zahm, Suzanne (Todd) Peterson, Sara (Kelly) Sax, Trevor (Kelley) Young, Laura (Josh) Rolfe, Tammy (Rob) Deur, Eric (Kelly) Hecksel, Joy (Ryan) Umlor; sister-in-law, Ruth Hecksel and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 7, 2022 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 17122 2nd St, Nunica, MI 49448, with Rev. Mark Gilson officiating. Burial will take place in Nunica cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, October 7, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at church. Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church.
