Peter Wallinga

Mr Peter Wallinga, aged 95, of Coopersville, was called home to his Lord Monday, June 18, 2012. He was born Nov 30, 1916 in Allendale MI to Peter and Grace (Meerman) Wallinga, and served in the Navy during WW II. Peter was preceded in death by his son Donald Wallinga. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ida; children Beverly (Herman) Smoes, Jan (Carroll) Snyder, David (Pauline) Wallinga, Carol (Ron) Riemersma, 15 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, sister-in-laws Margaret (Pete) Schaaphok, Ruth (Claude) McNitt, Joyce Metten; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday 2:00 pm at the Coopersville Reformed Church, Rev Stephen Mowat, Rev Greg Stamm, Rev Arnold VanBeek officiating. Burial will be in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Visitation hours will be Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville. Memorial donations may be made to Kuyper College, Donald Wallinga Scholarship Fund.
