Patricia Lou (Rhoades) Sommers

Patricia Lou Sommers, age 76, of Coopersville, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Elmer Rhoades and Gladys (See) Hale. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Second husband, Raymond Benac; siblings, Terry Rhoades, Ron (Linda) Rhoades, Greg Rhoades and Peggy Bartholomew; sisters-in-law, Joyce Thoms, Leona Klein, Beverly Zick, Ginny Johnson; brothers-in-law, Calvin “Butch” Sommers, Ira Sommers; niece, Rhonda Rhoades; nephew, Steven Rhoades. Patricia enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, shopping and spending time talking and gathering with family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 26 years Charles Sommers; children, Cindy (Craig) Bleckley, Bob Sikkema and Julie Maxwell, Brian (Denise) Sikkema; daughter-in-law, Renee Sikkema; step children, Dawn (Scott) Feringa, Duane (Shanna) Sommers, Kim Kauffman and Bob Ball, Dawn Benac, Randy (Penny) Elders, Tony (Kim) Benac; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce (Dan) Tenharmsel; special friend, Ursula Huesing and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with her wish cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 15, 2023 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404 with Connor Maki officiating. Interment will take place in Allendale Twp. Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
