Mr Nicholas L. VanRyswyk aged 72, of Coopersville passed away Sunday January 29, 2012. Nick was born Jan 12, 1940 in Wijk Netherlands to Cornelius and Johanna (VerSteeg) VanRyswyk who preceded him in death. He immigrated to the U.S. after WWII with his parents and has been a long time resident of Coopersville all his life graduating form Coopersville High School in 1957. Nick is the former owner of Nicks Auto body on 68th Ave in Coopersville now know as Dougs Auto Body. He also owned the Ziebart shop in Spring Lake for many years and was retired from Midwest Bumper of Grant. Nick loved his profession and spent many hours with friends and family repairing and restoring many cars over the years in and around the Coopersville area. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Jan; children Sonya (Kent) Peterson, Gregg (Lynnae) VanRyswyk, Julie VanRyswyk, Jonathan (Nichole) VanRyswyk and Christopher VanRyswyk; 7 grandchildren Kaitlin, Lindsey, Nicholas, Neil, Emeri, Destiny and Alexandria; sister Anne VanRyswyk; sister-in-laws Carolyn Ramsay, Barbara (Gary) Stewart, Beveryl Bottema; brother-in-laws Raymond Pierson, Albert Walker (Renae) Hepler, Charles (Patti) Hepler and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Friday 1:00 pm at Coopersville Reformed Church with burial in Coopersville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville.
