Nancy Almyda

Mrs. Nancy L. Almyda, aged 53, of Conklin, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2012 after a courageous fight with ovarian cancer. Nancy was born May 6, 1959 in Grand Rapids, MI to Robert and Jean (Woudstra) Phelps Sr. who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tom and Joe Phelps. Nancy graduated from Sparta High School in 1977; she served 10 years in the U.S. Air Force where she met and married her husband of 32 years Bryant Almyda. Upon her discharge from the Air Force Nancy and Bryant settled in Conklin. She was employed 18 yrs as an Executive Administrative Assistant with Etherton Sales and Merchandising of Walker and just a short time ago she received her Bachelors Degree in Business and Accounting. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared deeply for her family and they admired her strength and faith as she fought her courageous battle with cancer. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 32 yrs. Bryant Almyda Sr.; children, Kristin Almyda-Watson and husband Andrew Watson, Bryant and Heidi Almyda Jr.; five grandchildren, Austin, Kohen, Keagin, Madasin, and Devin; her brothers and sisters, Robert (Carol) Phelps Jr., Sue Tinney, Dave (Helen) Phelps, Sandy (Tom) Boomershine, John Phelps, many nieces and nephews and her special friend, Sunny who stayed faithfully by her side. In keeping with Nancyé�a�a��s wish cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Monday 6:00 pm at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, Rev Tommy Boutell officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home in Coopersville.
