Mary Jean Mengel, age 94, was called home to her Lord on Friday, June 5, 2020. Mary Jean was a life-long resident and graduate of Coopersville, faithful member of Coopersville United Methodist Church, and worked over 26 years at Coopersville Schools as the supervisor and head cook over the hot lunch program. She was a member of the Coopersville OK Kids and sang in the OK Choir. Mary Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Bryce in 1988, great granddaughter Molly Elizabeth Krepps in 2011 and sisters and brothers-in-law Theda and Russell Starks and Patricia and Gerald Cappy. She lived a happy full life and will be remembered and missed by her children, Nancy (Stephen) Krepps, and Ronald (Julie) Mengel; grandchildren, Craig Krepps of Prescott Valley, AZ, Eric (Julia) Krepps of Celina, TX, Ryan (Katie) Mengel of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Tyson (Rhianna) Mengel of Kenosha, WI; great grandchildren, Travis Myers, Carter Krepps, Regina Krepps, Delia Mengel, Bryce Mengel and Rory Mengel. Mary Jeans family would like to thank the staff at Fountain View for their loving care and Interim Hospice. Due to the pandemic, a drive-in celebration of life service will be held in the Coopersville Christian Reformed Church parking lot, 200 Henry St, Coopersville, MI 49404, Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 1:00 pm. with Rev. Cori Conran officiating, Guests are asked to stay in their cars. Burial taking place in Coopersville-Polkton Twp. cemetery. Those who wish will be able to drive through a greeting line past the family from 12:30 to 1:00 pm. or following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Coopersville United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 105 68th Ave N., Coopersville, MI 49404.
