Marvin Dahl

Marvin L. Dahl Sr., age 84, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Coopersville, was called home to his Lord Thursday, June 19, 2014. Marv was born in Ravenna, MI. to the late Edward and Alina (Mattson) Dahl. Marv served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Leigh Products in Coopersville, and from the Meijer store on Alpine Ave. Marv enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing cards and games with family and friends and took numerous Ocean Cruises with his wife Rita after their retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife Rita. Surviving are his two sons Marvin Jr. (Dawn) Dahl and Kevin (Lori) Dahl; six grandchildren, Danial (Ellie) Nusbaun, Laura (Jason) Bock, Jennifer (J.T.) Barry, Andrew (Melissa) Dahl, Katie Dahl and James Dahl; five great grandchildren, Ali, Gino, Little J.T., Nate and Alicia and his companion kitty cat Callie. Funeral services will be held Monday 10:30 am at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville 49404. Rev Darryl Miller officiating. Burial will be at Ravenna Twp. Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home and on Monday one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorial donations may be made to Spectrum Health Hospice.
