Marilyn Henrickson

Marilyn Henrickson of Rockford, formerly of Coopersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at the age of 88.  She was born in Coopersville, MI on June 4, 1931 to the late Ed and Minnie (Terpstra) Roskamp.  Marilyn was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Bernard (Bernie) Henrickson on August 21, 2018.  She is survived by her siblings Robert Roskamp, Marvin Roskamp and Janice Garrett-Truttschel.  Surviving are Bernard’s and Marilyn’s four sons; David (Barbara) of McBain, Douglas (Bonnie) of Rockford, Dan (Julie) of Grand Rapids, and Darrin of Hudsonville; eight beautiful grandchildren, Kelly (Lance) Taylor, Anne (Al) Thomas and Holly Henrickson all of McBain, Eric (Shanna) Henrickson and Jennifer (Gabriel) Castillo of Grand Rapids, Olivia and Brittany Henrickson and their mother Kelly of Grand Rapids, Ashlie (Matt) Kuiper; she was also  blessed with 12 great grandchildren.  Marilyn graduated from Coopersville High School in 1949.  For 15 years, she was a customer service manager at the Meijer store on Alpine Ave in Grand Rapids.  Marilyn loved to play golf, was a very fine artist, loved various crafts and was an accomplished seamstress.  She was the family’s “angel of love”.  Her love and devotion to her family will be held in our hearts forever. Those that had the privilege to meet her immediately felt the love she naturally radiated.  After her retirement from Meijer, her and Bernie moved to Florida on a golf course where they enjoyed 23 years of making new friends and playing golf. Following their stay in Florida they moved back to Michigan, with their last three years living at StoryPoint in Rockford, MI.  A funeral service to remember and celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 8 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI 49404 with visitation Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Coopersville-Polkton Twp.
