Marie Davidson Barkel

Marie Davidson Barkel, age 88, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was born in Marion, Kentucky. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Richard Barkel; and her aunt, Etta Morrison. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Deb (Mike) Wiggins; grandson, Brian Wiggins; sisters MaryAnn Ladner and Gracie Cook; extended members of the Barkel and Morrison families; and special friends, the Eddy family. Marie worked as a paraprofessional at Coopersville Area Public Schools for 33.5 years. In keeping with her wish cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 17150 88th Ave, Coopersville, MI 49404, on Wednesday, January 29 at 11:00 A.M with Fr. Michael Hodges celebrant. Relatives and friends may greet the family from 10 - 11 A.M. on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be held in Maple Hill cemetery.
