Mabel Siemen

Mabel Caroline Siemen, age 88, of Coopersville, passed away with family at her side Monday, December 21, 2020 at St Ann’s Home in Grand Rapids. Mabel was born in Harbor Beach, MI., to the late Otto and Laura (Detgen) Schave. In addition to her parents Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Allen Siemen on March 3, 2001, granddaughter Sonya Hess, great grandson Isaac Scott Otterbein, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Mabel worked at Heath Manufacturing in Coopersville for many years and enjoyed her job building bird houses. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, playing euchre and having coffee with friends. Mabel is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Frank) Maslowski, Pat (Don) Cook, Carol (Doug) Otterbein; grandchildren, Stacy (John) Roberts, Laura (Lang) Davis, Shannon (Chuck) Ranney, Melissa (Jeremy) Molendyk, Trisha (Evan) Hall, Nicole (Scott) VanOeffelen, Christopher (Susie) Otterbein and Scott (Angie) Otterbein; 22 great grandchildren, brother, Walter Schave; sisters-in-law, Anita Schave, Marge Siemen and Virginia Siemen; many nieces and nephews. Due to Covid restrictions seating will be limited at church and Masks and Social Distancing are required at the funeral mass and visitation time. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020 at with Fr. Ayub Francis Nasar Celebrant. Burial will be next to her husband in St Mary’s Cemetery in Marne. The family will receive visitors prior to the Funeral Mass from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday Dec 23, 2020 at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Marne, MI.  The Siemen family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at St Ann’s Home and Emmanuel Hospice for the care and comfort given to Mabel and the family.
