Louis Buzas, age 91, of Coopersville, passed away Saturday Jan. 11, 2014. He was born to Charles and Esther (Bujdoso) Buzas in Coopersville, MI who preceded him in death. He attended Coopersville schools, worked for the Michigan Conservation Core and served in the Army during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle. He served with the 14th Armored Division, 47th regiment as a tank crewman helping to liberate both POW and Concentration Camps during the war. Louie worked in Grand Haven MI for 17 years at Oldbergs Muffler factory, owned the Anchor Inn in Coopersville for many years and also owned and operated the Courtesy Motel in Grand Haven. Louie enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren whom he adored. He enjoyed attending baseball games with friends and family, and was known for his jokes and great sense of humor. Louie will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years Dolores; children Stan (Sandra) Buzas, Larry Buzas and Shelly (David) Phillips; grandchildren, Matthew, Shannon, DJ, Alaina, Patrick, Christopher and Melissa; seven great grandchildren; sister Julia Riemersma; sister-in-law Betty (John) Hodson and many nieces and nephews. Louie was also preceded in death his brothers Frank, Chuck, Steve and Joe and his sisters Margaret, Sophie, Betty, Helen and Rose. Funeral services will be held Thrusday 1:00 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville with burial in Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home in Coopersville. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of N.
