Lisa Casler

January 4, 1966 — October 16, 2020

Lisa A. Casler, age 54, passed away unexpectedly October 16, 2020. Lisa was preceded in death by her father Donald Gutchak, step-father C. John Forshee, and beloved special aunts Charlene Marentette and Nancy Mathews. Lisa found peace in nature and loved to read Robert Frost poetry with Nothing Gold Can Stay being a favorite poem. She was an active member in the Ottawa County Audubon Society and was a Certified Naturalist thru the Michigan DNR. She enjoyed observing the birds, animals and beauty around her taking many beautiful photos which she shared on social media. She passed on her love of nature to her daughters, grandchildren, siblings and friends. Lisa was a strong independent woman, a role model to her family and lived life on her own terms. She was always there to help and assist her daughters, grandchildren, family, friends and community at large. Lisa carried her love of helping others over into her work life earning her Bachelor’s Degree at Central Michigan University and her Master of Social Work Degree at Grand Valley State University. She was employed with Ottawa County and worked as the Project Manager for Ottawa County Community Mental Health Services in Grand Haven for the past 20 years. Lisa will be deeply missed by her daughters, Caitlin Williamson and Chelsea Williamson; she was the best Nonnie to grandchildren, Payson and Onyx. She is also survived by her mother, Ann Marie “Sandy” Forshee; sister, Susan Lutz; brothers, Robert Lutz (Susan Anderson), Matthew Lutz (Nancy Oberlin), Michael Lutz and Andrew (Jennifer) Lutz; 4 nieces; 4 nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cremation has taken place. Please follow COVID social distancing and mask use practices if attending visitation or the memorial service. A Life Celebration Memorial Service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI., with Rev Cori Conran officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 1 to 3 P.M. at the Throop Funeral Home. Memorial Donations may be made to the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation (make check to CHACF) for Ottawa County Parks & Recreation Commission’s Nature Education Center Endowment Fund, 1 South Harbor Dr. Grand Haven, MI 49417, Owashtanong Islands Audubon Society (Grand Haven), P.O. Box 1654 Holland, MI 49423, or Ottawa County Community Mental Health, 12265 James St. Holland, MI 49424. Condolences for the family may be left on her Tribute Wall at throopfh.com.
