Linda Geffert, born Nov. 3, 1942 passed away on Nov. 20, 2021 at the age of 79. She is survived by her two children, daughter, Carla (Gary) Hamstra of Allendale and son, Tony (Kendra) Geffert of Coopersville; her two grandchildren, Denise (Shawn) Van Dyke of Grand Rapids and Brian Hamstra of Allendale and two great grandchildren, Chase Van Dyke and Josey Van Dyke. She also is survived by her best friend and companion of 38 years Robert Cooper. In 2000 Linda was diagnosed with AMD and in 2002 retired from Spartan Stores after working 28 years in the warehouse. She enjoyed traveling, trips and vacations with her daughter and grandchildren. She loved the mountains, her German Shepherd Toby of 14 years who was always by her side, her music, football and of course her favorite reading books. All this and much more until the AMD took her eye sight from her and left her legally blind. Two things she said she always had were wonderful memories over the years and a loving and devoted family to get her through her darkest days. The family would like to take this time to send a special thank you to Dr. Carol Finlayson and her fine staff at Allendale Family Practice for the wonderful care given to their mother. Her wishes were to be cremated upon death. Visitation with friends and family members will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Private burial will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be left on her tribute wall at www.throopfh.com
