Mr Lester Jack Feenstra, age 85, of Coopersville, was called home to his Lord Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014. He was born in Grand Rapids MI to Thomas and Irene (Kroontje) Feenstra who preceded him in death. Lester was also preceded in death by his son Timothy Feenstra on March 3, 2012, brother Raymond and sister Evelyn Koning. Lester is survived by his wife of 61 years Rose (McDonald); children, Vicky (Todd) Walcott, Terry (Isabel) Feenstra, Michelle (Eric) Abbey and Scott (Melanie) Feenstra; daughter-in-law Diane Feenstra; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother Donald (Millie) Feenstra; brother-in-law Ken Koning; sisters-in-law, Ruth Lamberts, Mary Latrielle, Marie McDonald, Lorraine McDonald and several nieces and nephews. He served in the US Army during Korea. Lester owned and operated the Mobil Station on Plainfield and Leonard in Grand Rapids for many years and also the Mobil station on Fruitridge Ave. He was also retired from APV Baker where he worked as a Machinist. He was a member of Grand Rapids 1st Church on 44th St and was a longtime resident of the Coopersville area. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 am at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, in Coopersville, with Rev Kerry Watts officiating. Burial in Maplewood cemetery, Lamont.
