Mrs Laura Ruster, age 93, was called to heaven and reunited with loved ones early Saturday morning Oct 25, 2014. Laura was born in Polkton Twp. to John and Anna (Kooistra) Meindertsma who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death her husband Howard in 1999, two brothers Cal and John and two sisters Katherine and Ruth. Laura enjoyed serving and caring for others. She loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She worked as an RN for 38 years at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids retiring in 1984, was a lifelong resident of Coopersville and longtime member of Coopersville Reformed Church. She is survived by her children, Jack Ruster, Amy (Rick) Gibson, Ellen (Cal) Kooistra; 9 grandchildren, Amy (Dave) Glotzbach, Katie McNitt, Jackie (Brad) Terbeek, Casey, Matt, Eric and Laura Gibson, Katie (Luke) Holwerda and Brittany (Mike) Streeter; 7 great grandchildren, Mel, DJ, Hayley, Nolan, Wyatt, Charly and Jack; brother Mike (Carol) Meindertsma; sister, Lois Mulder; sister-in-law Muriel Meindertsma and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be held Monday 11 am at the Coopersville Reformed Church with Rev. Greg Stamm officiating. Burial will be in Coopersville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 5 to 8 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville.
