Larry was a graduate of Coopersville High School & attended Michigan State University before joining the U.S. Marine Corps. He served his country as Lance Corporal and was later promoted to Marine Sergeant while serving with the First Marine Division in Vietnam.

His motorcycle was his pride and joy often traveling with others on long distant trips or scenic rides with his girls on beautiful days. Annually he would attend the Blessing of the Bikes in Baldwin, Michigan. Larry was all about traveling. Whether by car, bike or boat he has every map imaginable. Larry enjoyed sports, playing catch with his girls, attending grandchildren sporting events and cheering on the MSU Spartans and the Detroit Lions. He will be best known as a man of few words, but had a deep love for his family and was guaranteed to make you laugh with his priceless remarks and comments.
