Lance Tikkanen

Lance Arnold Tikkanen, aged 62, of Amargosa Valley, NV, formally of Coopersville, passed away Sunday January 24, 2021 after a short battle with liver cancer. Lance was born in Grand Haven, MI to the late Lavonna (Allen) and Arthur O. Tikkanen. Lance proudly served our country for over 20 years in the United States Navy as an Electronics Warfare Technician. After retirement he served as Head of Maintenance at The Longstreet Casino and served as an officer at the VFW Post 6826 in Amargosa Valley. He also enjoyed hiking and touring the desert on his motorcycle.Lance was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lavonna Tikkanen; siblings, Laurie (Tikkanen) Smith, Lane Tikkanen and Lucinda Tikkanen; Sister-in-laws Kathleen (Woodman) Tikkanen and Linda (Culligan) Tikkanen; Brother in-laws Dale Asbury and David Upchurch; Nephews Gregory Bouwkamp, Kyle Tikkanen and niece Jessica Tikkanen. He is survived by siblings, Linda (Tikkanen) Smith, Lon Tikkanen, Leah (Dale) Spinner and Lynette Asbury; Nephews and nieces, Shawn (Alyssa) Smith, Christy (Doug) King, Carrie (Jarrad) Weirda, Barry (Becky) Tikkanen, Brandon (Christina) Tikkanen, Erin Tikkanen, Cassandra (Michael) Gardener, Amanda Tikkanen, Bobbie (Tim Eely) Spinner, Lance William Spinner, Alisha (Kyle Schutte) Spinner, Angel Jones, Curtis (Andrea Jaffaf) Asbury, William Tikkanen, and Scott (Katie) Tikkanen. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing are required. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday February 20, 2021 at Ottawa Center Chapel 8991 Leonard Street Coopersville, MI 49404 with Pastor Robert Porterfield officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00am. Burial will be in the Ottawa Center Cemetery at a later date.
