Kenneth “Ken” VanDoorn, age 55, of Coopersville, was called home to his Lord, Wednesday, July 17, 2019 and is now cancer free. Ken was a member of the Coopersville Christian Reformed Church where he served as a Deacon. Ken and Audrey own and operate John’s Towing Service of Coopersville which he purchased from his mother and father in 1984. Ken was a people person always willing to help others and loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Audrey (Steenstra) VanDoorn; children, Erika (Josh) DeKoning, John (Lindsey) VanDoorn, Sara (Zeke) Hecksel and Ben “Butch” (Toni) VanDoorn; 5 grandchildren, Presley and Weston DeKoning, Ava VanDoorn, Lane Hecksel and Grace VanDoorn; parents, John and Alvina VanDoorn; sisters, Kristi (Marvin) Prins, Kathy (Albert) Lothschutz and Karla (Pete) Twork; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Hilda Steenstra; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Alice Dave Brinkert, Rick (Deb) Steenstra, Eric (Amy) Steenstra and Tricia Hanenburg; many nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wish cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Coopersville High School, 198 East St, Coopersville, with Rev. Lloyd Hemstreet officiating.
