Kathleen Marie “Kathy” (Miller) Wassink, age 63, of Conklin, passed away at her home Saturday, March 14, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Erwin and Margaret (Rasch) Miller. She was a graduate of Coopersville High School and earned her nursing degree from Grand Valley State University in the late 1970’s. Kathy was known for her adventurous and fun-loving spirit. She enjoyed the outdoors and time spent with her family and her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil. She was a people person and enjoyed meeting and helping others which fit perfectly with her career as a nurse. Kathy worked as a nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids for 20 yrs. until she took a job at Fresenius Kidney Care in Muskegon and worked there until her retirement in 2017. She was preceded in death by her father, Erwin Miller and brother, William “Bill” Miller. Kathy is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Wassink; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Joe Modzeleski; grandchildren, Isaac Modzeleski and Miri Modzeleski; mother, Margaret (Rasch) Miller; brothers, David (Arlene) Miller, Jerry (Jill) Miller and John (Sue) Miller; the Wassink family and many nieces and nephews.
