Joyce Zylstra

Joyce Elaine Zylstra, age 85, of Coopersville, was called home to her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Joyce was born in Holland MI., to the late Leonard and Ella (Leeuw) VanLiere. She was a graduate of Holland High School and worked as a Nurse in her younger years prior to her marriage to her late husband Wilber “Bill” Zylstra who preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 2004. Joyce had a strong faith in her Lord, was a member of the Lamont Christian Reformed Church, enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, living along the Grand River, tending her flower gardens and singing in the OK Choir. Joyce is survived by her children, Leonard (Sara) Zylstra and Peter (Jocyln) Zylstra; grandchildren Matthew (Heather) Zylstra and their children Jazman and LeRoy; granddaughter, Chelsey (Mitchell) Kriger and their daughter Oakley Joy; sisters-in-law, Betty VanLiere and Grace Albers; brothers-in-law Jim VanWyk, Gerrit Zylstra and Uko (Jane) Zylstra; special cousin Fred (Fran) Hekstra; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday June 7, 2019 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI. 49404, with Rev Terry Slachter officiating. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery at Lamont. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.
