Joseph Anthony Schoenborn, age 85, passed away with family at his side. Joe is survived by his wife of 43 ½ yrs, Barbara (Henry) Schoenborn; children, Kevin (Michelle) Schoenborn, Ryan (Amy) Schoenborn, Tricia Eid and Renee Dine; grandchildren, Lauren (Daniel) Mahaffey, Nicole Schoenborn and fiancé Trevor Frisby, Krystal (Ethan) Bratcher, Rory Schoenborn and Spencer Schoenborn; great grandchildren, Luke Bratcher and Gabriel Mahaffey; brother, Stan (Liz) Schoenborn; sister, Marianne (Len) Armock; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe was preceded in death by his sister Janet Felker.
He worked for Oliver Products for 55 yrs., retiring at the age of 75. For 30 yrs Joe was an avid runner completing 3 marathons that qualified him to compete in the Boston Marathon. Joe enjoyed activities that involved his family and his grandchildren, attending school functions and sporting events, spending time at the cottage on Pickeral Lake in Newaygo and camping at Grand Haven State Park as well as other campgrounds.
In keeping with Joe’s wish cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 31, 2024 at St Luke University Parish, 10144 42nd Ave, Georgetown Twp, MI 49428 (Located South of Grand Valley St. University in Allendale, MI.) Interment will be in Rosedale Memorial Park, Standale, MI.
The family will greet relatives and friends 6 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville MI 49404 and Friday 10 to 10:45 A.M. at St Luke University Parish 10144 42nd Ave, Georgetown Twp, MI 49428.
