John Mathew Diendorf

John Mathew Diendorf, age 91, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 in Coopersville, MI. He was retired from Leigh Products in Coopersville, was a graduate of Ravenna High School, served in the U.S. Marines during Korea, was a Supervisor for Chester Twp., served on the Chester Twp. Fire Dept. and was a member of the Conklin American Legion. John loved having his family and friends gathered around him, Thursday Happy Hours, restoring antique cars and John Deere tractors, cheering on the Detroit Tigers and Lions and was a devoted University of Michigan fan. He also enjoyed spending time wintering in Florida as well as fishing, hunting and a good game of horseshoes.  John was preceded in death by his wife Faye (Strait) Diendorf on July 22, 2015 and his siblings, Ray Wagner, Florence Beuschel, Ruth Burns, Robert Diendorf and Mary Jane Diendorf. John is survived by his children, Michael (Julie) Diendorf, James (Trish) Diendorf, Suzanne (Rick) Andrews, Patricia (Todd) McDonald and John (Kelly) Diendorf; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Helen Bragdon; sister-in-law Patricia (Robert) Benson and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 28, 2023 at St Francis Xavier Church, 2044 Gooding Rd, Conklin, MI. 49403 with Fr. Andrew Ayers Celebrant. Burial will take place in St Francis Cemetery next to his wife Faye following the service. Relatives and friends may greet the family 4 – 8 P.M. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, MI. 49404 and Friday one hour prior to the Mass at Church. The Rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Spectrum Hospice or Fountain View of Coopersville.
