Mr. Jean S. Curtiss, age 79, went into the arms of Jesus after a short and courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents Ohmer John Curtiss & Opal Mary Becker and his granddaughter Sarah Joy Curtiss. Jean is survived by his best friend and wife of 54 years Barbara Curtiss; two sons, Alan (Johanna) Curtiss and Jonathan (Kathleen) Curtiss; four grandsons, Joey Hinds, Josh Curtiss, Caleb Curtiss and Matthew (Rebecca) Curtiss; four great grandchildren, Grayson Curtiss, Kaden Curtiss, Alexander Hinds and Rowan Hinds, sisters, Karen (Donald) Rynearson and Christina (Gary) Martin; brothers, Garry (Marlene) Curtiss and Kevin (Alisha) Curtiss along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jeané�a�a��s occupation was in electronics. He had a passion for nature and agriculture which was reflected in his yard and his enjoyment of working on his tractors. Since Retirement, Jean has been able to enjoy time with family, his music by participating in the church choir and orchestra and his volunteer work with the Gideoné�a�a��s International and the Marine Corp League. A memorial service will be held 11am Monday November 2nd, 2015 at the 1st Evangelical Covenant Church, 1933 Tremont Blvd. NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a time to meet the family one hour prior to the service.
