Gradus Kamps

Gradus Kamps, age 90, of Spring Lake formerly of Coopersville, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Gradus was born in Wayland, MI to the late Louis and Gertrude (Vantil) Kamps. Gradus is a member of Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church and formerly a member of Coopersville Christian Reformed Church. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Shirley (Brander) Kamps; children, Brenda (Daniel) Maurer, Todd (Amy) Kamps, Pamela (Rocky) Nichols; grandchildren, Danielle (Clay) Verkaik, Paige (Zac) Kadau, Jonathan Kamps, Emma Kamps, Justin (Amber) Nichols, Austin Nichols; great grandchildren, Judah Kadau, Quinn Kadau and soon to arrive baby girl Verkaik; siblings, Clarence (Rena) Kamps and Gertrude (Edward) Vander Kolk; sister-in-law, Flora (Art) Schout; brothers-in-law, Rev. William (Trudy) Brander, George Brander and Fred (Susie) Brander; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Gradus was also preceded in death by his siblings, Abe (Marge) Kamps, Edward (Sylvia) Kamps, Bill (Dorothy) Kamps, Gene Kamps and sister-in-law Gloria Brander. Due to Covid restrictions Masks and Social Distancing are required at Church. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Spring Lake Christian Reformed Church, 364 S Lake Ave, Spring Lake, MI 49456, with Pastor Rocky Nichols officiating. Burial will be at the Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, January 30, 2021 one hour prior to the service at church.
