Glenn Dale Hanenburg, 79 was welcomed home to glory to his Lord and Savior after a brutal two and a half months of fighting aggressive cancer. He was born on February 25, 1945 in Pipestone, MN to the late Charles and Caroline Hanenburg. Growing up on a dairy farm Glenn quickly learned the ethic of hard work. Glenn met Jean in junior high and began dating in high school. They were inseparable and eventually married in 1965 after 1 year of Dordt college for Glenn and 2 years of nurses training for Jean.
Glenn was drafted into the army to join the war as it escalated in Vietnam. Five days after they married, Glenn left for basic training. He was taken out of active combat after serving a year and finished his service state side in Kentucky with Jean on base.
After the service, Glenn and Jean bought a dairy farm near his home town of Edgerton MN where they welcomed 3 children. In 1977 after 3 years of severe drought the family packed up and moved to Michigan where Glenn managed the beef cattle operation at River Ridge Farms in Coopersville. It was then they welcomed their 4th child. Glenn finished his working years as maintenance manager at Oak Crest manor in Holland and Encore floral in Walker. Glenn loved horses his whole life but he loved his family and Jesus more.
Glenn loved people and has affected many lives in his short 79 years of life.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte “Sue” Knott and his brother Lee Hanenburg.
