COLE - Gladys (Jewell) Cole, aged 90, of Coopersville, was called peacefully home to her Lord surrounded by her family, Saturday, April 10, 2010. She was born in Coopersville, MI on Sept. 20, 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, parents, Robert Jewell and Martha (Zetlow) Jewell, brothers Charles, Lewis and Howard and nephew Brian Knowles. After Donald passed away in 1973 she began working at the Ravenna Livestock Sale Restaurant. Gladys was a longtime active member of County Line Community Church. She also volunteered at Coopersville Cares for many years. The OK Senior Group gave Gladys the chance to bowl, travel and form special friendships. She loved gardening and serving others. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she enjoyed making quilts for each of them. She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Donald) Spoelma, Donna (Dan) Mikula and Norma (Randy) Bence; six grandchildren, Jill Mikula, Erin (Andy) Adomaitis, Sarah Mikula, Jason, LeAnn and Kevin Bence; sister, Helen Knowles; nephews, Roger (Judy) Jewell, Verlin (Barb) Jewell; nieces, Karen (John) Nyquist and Diane (Mark) Strasser.In keeping with Gladys wish cremation has taken place with interment in Coopersville Cemetery. A Memorial Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday (April 18th) at County Line Community Church, 10326 Wilson Rd., Coopersville, MI, 49404, Pastor Joe Borowitz, officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives 2 to 4 PM Saturday (April 17th) at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St., Coopersville.
