Gertrude Potts

Mrs Gertrude M. Potts aged 91 of Coopersville was called home to her Lord Tuesday March 22, 2011. Gertrude was born Oct 24, 1919 in Muskegon MI. to the late Jacob and Christine (Schmidt) Metten. She was also preceded in death by her husband Albert, son John; grandson Dale, and brothers Walter, Paul, Henry and Jacob. She was a WW II veteran and served in the Navy Waves, and was a school teacher for many years. Gertrude is survived by her daughter-in-law Marjorie Stelter (Potts); granddaughter Linda (Keith) Holman; great granddaughters Kelly (Nathan) Germay, and Mindy (Moses) Gonzales; great great grandchildren Marley and Araya Gonzales, and Emelyn and Noelle Germay; sisters Ida (Peter) Wallinga, Margaret (Peter) Schaaphok, Ruth (Claude) McNitt (Moe), sister-in-law Joyce Metten and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday 2:00 pm at the Throop Funeral Home in Coopersville. Rev Arnold VanBeek and Pastor Lee VanAusema officiating. Burial in Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery.
