Gerald Snyder

Gerald é�a�A"Jerryé�a�� Snyder, age 66, of Grand Rapids, MI., passed away suddenly Sunday, August 14, 2016 after being diagnosed with cancer 5 days earlier on Tuesday. Jerry was born to the late Edmund and Catherine (Naseman) Snyder in Detroit; MI. He owned Designtech Screen Printing in Grand Rapids and was the former owner of Oxford Food Center in Grand Rapids. Jerry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who possessed a generous heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He found great satisfaction and a sense of peace when working in his yard and enjoyed moving dirt and planting evergreen and fruit trees. Jerry was very much a people person, he enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with others, was generous with his time, worked on habitat houses in Grand Rapids and enjoyed making others smile and laugh with his sense of humor. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kay; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Liz Snyder; grandsons, Leo and Adam; siblings, Richard and Diane Snyder, Tom Snyder and Janet Hatch; nephews and nieces, Matt, Andre, Wes, Wayne, Katie, Maryanne and Edmund and 6 great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Gawin Hatch. A Life Celebration Service will be held Saturday, 4 pm, Aug. 20th, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids with Rev. Gerald Pohly and Rev. David Nellist officiating. Interment at Maple Hill Cemetery, Charlotte, MI. The family will greet relatives and friendé�a�a��s 5:30-8 pm, Friday, Aug. 19th at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids.
