Genevieve Helen (Armstrong) Potter

Genevieve Helen (Armstrong) Potter, age 92, of Coopersville, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023. She was born in Muskegon, MI to the late Earl and Eva (Budd) Armstrong. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Oscar Potter; sons, Richard Potter, Brian Potter; great grandchildren, Kiersten Hammer, Haden Deater; 4 brothers and 4 sisters. She will be deeply missed by her children, Sandee (Dave) White, Marie Rood, Sheryl Kuzniar, Mike (Valerie) Potter, Mark (Susan) Potter, Rita (Dennis) Zimmer; daughter-in-law, Connie Potter; 19 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; 7 great great grandchildren with 1 on the way; sisters, Lorraine Sietsema, Ardis Ingersol; brothers, Merlin (Sandy) Armstrong, Duane (Rose) Armstrong and several nieces and nephews. Genevieve lived a long and fulfilled life. She was creative and made sure to crochet baby blankets for most of the babies in her family as well as various gifts throughout the years. She was an integral part of a bowling league for over 40 years which allowed her great bonds with wonderful friends. She had a love for the Detroit Tigers as well as attending her grandchildren’s various sporting events and dance recitals. Her laughter was infectious and couldn’t be missed at the large family gatherings that took place biannually. Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404. Burial will take place in Coopersville-Polkton Twp. Cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St. Coopersville, MI 49404.
