Frank A. Rivard, age 65, of Coopersville, formerly of Bay City passed away Thursday March 14, 2013 surrounded by his wife and children after a courageously fought battle against a very rapid and progressive ALS disease. Frank loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and enjoyed tinkering in his garage. He worked many years in the food service industry and also volunteered at the Senior Meals Program in Grandville and Feeding America. He served in the US Army and was a Vietnam veteran. Frank is survived by his wife of 45 years Faith Ann; children Vickie (Bill) Bird, Rob (Molly) Rivard; grandchildren Ben and Katie Bird, Jacob, Nathan and Hannah Rivard; brothers Jim (Mary Ann) Rivard, Don Rivard, Roger (Lynn) Rivard; sisters, Elaine (Dan) Dell, Geri (Mike) McComb; sister-in-law, Dorothy Rivard; brother-in-law Ken (Shelley) McGeathy; sister-in-laws Becky McGeathy, Penny (David) Rickard and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at St Maryé�a�a��s Catholic Church, 15164 Juniper, Marne 49435 with Fr Dave Gross Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Maryé�a�a��s Cemetery in Marne. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, March 19th 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm a the Throop Funeral Home, 214 Church St, Coopersville, 49404.
